Behind the Scenes with Claire Cochran at Stitch Buzz

If you are a garment maker, you have very likely either made a cardboard template or wished for one many times. When Claire Cochran of Stitch Buzz felt that way, she invented a permanent one! In 2011, Claire launched her business with just one specialty ruler. Watch this 20 minute interview as she takes us behind the scenes into that journey. We think you will be amazed at the variety of 16 rulers and 4 templates she now has to offer.

  1. A very interesting interview and topic. I never knew she had so many rulers! I have two that I use all the time but am thinking of the welt pocket one to add to my collection. Thanks for taking the time to introduce us to this inventor.

    1. So glad you enjoyed it! Claire is wonderful to talk to and has so many useful templates. I bought the welt template too and can’t wait to use it!

  2. I first heard about your rulers through patternreview.com, which I love (Deepika is so great!). It was great to learn more about the background and about a couple of rulers I hadn’t seen yet. I am a Burda Mag sewer also and they are just so great for that. I also love the Curve Runner! I have a 12″.

I think it’s so cool that you’re also producing them!

With all of this mask sewing, I’ve been doing a lot of metric conversion (since so many youtube video tutorials come from other countries), so getting a metric version is my next purchase! I think I saw you have a french curve metric ruler set. I’d love to be able to buy them through Pattern Review!
