DAFA (Dallas Area Fiber Artists) Lace program

The general meeting for DAFA on Monday, April 23, will begin at 6:45 PM. Mini Workshop starts at 5:30PM  Guests welcome


Mini Workshop  Member Carrie Noess will teach the mini workshop at 5:30-6:30 on The Basics of Needlelace. The kit fee is $5. Please bring your Go-Kit with basic sewing supplies.

We welcome spring with a program presented by Judy Cogan on the Origins of European Handmade Lace. She will show samples from her impressive collection of laces, including handmade lace yardage, collars, berthas and shawls made from Carrickmacross, English Honiton, French Chantilly, Italian Reticella, and Belgian Lace. Judy will also include a discussion of the techniques and design motifs in lace making, and how lace has been used in fashion and home décor.

Show and Tell: Please bring only one item to share.

Raffle: We will hold a lace and trims raffle of Susan Brown’s collection during the general meeting.

With few exceptions, the Dallas Area Fiber Artists monthly meeting takes place on the 4th Monday of each month. It starts with a mini-workshop at 5:30 p.m., followed by a general meeting beginning at 6:45 p.m.
