Travelogue of a Wandering Sewist – Visiting Marla Kazell

The continued adventures of Sheryl and her trip west.

Further north on our journey I had the privilege of spending the morning shopping in Portland, OR with Marla Kazell.  It was such fun!

She introduced me to the Old Mill Store, which is so massive and has such incredible fabric offerings that I could have stayed there an entire day! marla1

I saw so many things I wanted to bring home with me but only allowed myself a beautiful black and bronze swimsuit knit so I can try my hand at the Bombshell Indie swimsuit I have seen mentioned in so many sewing blogs.  It is an indie pattern from closet case files available at this link.   marla2

We had just enough time to stop at Josephine’s.  So many of us have heard of this fabric store.  It was a small, boutique store with some very nice fabrics.  Be watching for their upcoming website if you would like to do some shopping without going all the way to Portland.

It was such fun to take this mini-shop hop with Marla!  It was just enough time to whet my appetite to want to come back someday and spend more time.  I guess this just means I need to have a “next time”!  Until then………………….
